Trick or Treat 

Bring the kids to trick or treat along the Village road for treats and maybe even a trick or two! Sign up for the costume contest, take a hayride, and participate in spooky adventures around Shaker Village.

Spooky Treasure Hunt at Headley-Whitney Museum. Kids will love searching the gorgeous fall museum grounds for tricks and treats!

Halloween Walk With the Animals

Salato Wildlife Education Center Halloween Walk With the Animals. $5 per person. Members get in free! Hay Maze, Face Painting, Fishing Booth and TREATS!

Party for the Pumpkins

We hope you’ll join us for the first ‘Party for the Pumpkins’ at The Arboretum. This afternoon event features pumpkins and all things ‘fall’ and is for the entire family. Live music, seasonal food, a straw maze, childen’s activities, and favorite creatures are just of a few of the things planned. We are looking for your help to carve or paint pumpkins prior for the event. The Arboretum will have pumpkins for sale in early October, or bring your own carved or painted pumpkin on October 17th to display and then take home.

Little Goblins Galore

McConnell Springs, the birthplace of Lexington, has a special event each year called Little Goblins Galore. For just $5 kids can enjoy a day of games, activities, and treats through the park.

Thriller & Halloween Parade 

Voted a Top 10 Halloween destination by USA Today, zombies will return to haunt downtown Lexington once again for the Thriller & Halloween Parade! The evening will kick-off at 6:30 p.m. with a dance showcase, fall foods and Halloween festivities at the Robert F. Stephens Courthouse Plaza. Prior to the Thriller dance, will be a Halloween parade featuring ghosts, ghouls, superheroes, villains and costumed characters of all kinds.

This year marks the 14th anniversary of the annual live performance of Michael Jackson’s groundbreaking video for Thriller. The Thriller dance will start at Quality and Main streets and proceed along Main Street ending at Mill Street. The dance will occur repeatedly along the route. In the event of inclement weather, this event will take place on Monday, October 26, at the same time. This event is brought to you by Lexington Parks & Recreation, Mecca Dance Studio and WRFL.

Enjoy live music, food and drink, and a bonfire on the lawn!

The Central Kentucky Riding for Hope Halloween Trail Ride and Used Tack Sale

The Central Kentucky Riding for Hope Halloween Trail Ride and Used Tack Sale are events to benefit the Central Kentucky Riding for Hope. The Halloween Trail Ride allows riders to ride over park grounds that are not usually open to riders. A costume class and ride-a-thon will also take place during the event. Access to our Giant Corn Maze, during daylight hours of operation. Last customers will be admitted approximately 30 minutes BEFORE dusk. Access to our Giant Corn Maze… at night! First Night Maze customers admitted just before dusk. INCLUDES FLASHLIGHT RENTAL. Only true adventurers admitted! Fresh from the field! Carving pumpkins, pie pumpkins, specialty pumpkins, gourds, squash and cushaws. Priced individually and by pound, depending on variety.
