1. Downtown Dartmouth Halloween Spooktacular
Free for all ages, join in for a family costume parade featuring free treats, cake, live music and much more. A perfect way to get into the Halloween spirit with your family.

Wear your most spectacular Halloween costume to Discovery Centre’s Spooktacular Science Halloween Party and join the staff and volunteers for the most epic Halloween-themed party of the season. With family friendly experiments, eye-popping demos, costume competitions and Halloween crafts all included with the price of admission, it’s sure to a bone chillingly good time.

Selfie with the scariest celebrities and ghosts, simulated casket ride, visiting the witch's trick-or-treat house, and a yard haunt: There are a few of the many spooky events that you can participate in at this year's Bluenose Ghost Festival. There is something for all ages!

Visit Shubenacadie Wildlife Park this Halloween for tricks and treats, where the animals can see your Halloween costumes. Surprise the wildlife with your outfits and they have some surprises for you. Regular park admission applies.

5. Ghost Tours
Apart from these Halloween special events, you can also consider taking Ghost tours, which happen for extended periods. Two of our favourite tours at the Halifax Citadel Ghost Tour and The Halifax Ghost Walk.
FLAR Equine Experience is hosting some spooky fun on October 26. You'll be bobbing for apples, guessing how much candy is in the candy jar, trying to escape from the fun maze, taking your best hit at the piñata, and more.

Bigger and more entertaining than ever, the Vegetorium Country Farm Market Fall Harvest Festival is back for another year. This year's fall party includes pumpkin decorating, games, a bouncy castle, music, a photo booth, fresh pressed apple cider. This event is for children of all ages, and scary costumes are not allowed.

Cat Lovers, you won't want to miss this! Over 100 cats will be on exhibition at the Halifax Halloween Cat Show. There will be competitions for Special Black Cat and The Famous Cat Costume Class. Make sure you stay long enough to see which cat is crowned Best in Show.

Drop by the Museum of Natural History during the afternoon of October 27 for a spooky (but not too spooky!) experience. The museum has planned a lineup Halloween activities for junior explorers and their parents—be ready to get your hands dirty! Participate in bug cooking, learn to identify spiders by their eye arrangement, make some creepy crafts, listen to spooky stories under the stars, and much more.
