Looking for spooky Halloween events? Well you've come to the right place! Halloween is creeping up on us and ChatterBlock has a list of events and activities to get you into the spirit for thrills and chills.  

Here’s a list of our favourite Halloween events in Edmonton this 2016.

Halloween Howl Bonfire

Get out your best costume and visit the Nature Centre for their free Halloween Howl Bonfire! Go on a spooky nature walk, tell some ghost stories, and play some ghostly games. Make sure you don’t forget a chair and a reusable mug for some tasty hot chocolate. Event time is 6.30 pm - 8 pm.

Boo at the Zoo

Get Closer...Be not afraid this Halloween! Wear your coolest costume, bring your reusable trick-or-treat bags, and "get closer" to the spooky wonders of the animal kingdom. Hands-on experiments, crafts, an extinct animal graveyard, and a witch's den are just some of the fun activities that will make this Halloween one to remember!

Haunted Pumpkin Festival

The Haunted Pumpkin Festival at Prairie Gardens Adventure Farm, attracts families from across the nation to Edmonton’s countryside every fall! An autumn outing to the pumpkin patch and this charming month-long Halloween festival is an annual tradition. There’s been over 1 million guests to the farm have enjoyed the farm since 1956!

Farm and Pumpkin Patch Activities run 10am – 5pm, with special entertainment (Puppet Shows, Pumpkin Cannon, Folk Music, Magic Shows, Drumming Circles, Story Tellers etc.) from 12 pm – 4pm.with rotating scheduled performances.

Festival of Witchcraft and Wizardry: a Magical Fanhood party

Being a Harry Potter Fan, this event is one of our Favourites. It includes a ride on the Hogwarts Express, screening of the Harry Potter movies, photo booth, Hogwart’s classes in divination and potions, Buttery beer and pumpkin juice, a marketplace with magical vendors, food trucks with English fare, Potter yoga and more! Tickets are required for several of the options, but the market, yoga and joining in the costumed fun are free for all!

Night of Fear Festival 2017

Witches, Ghosts and Ghouls Costume Parade! Little creatures, and big creatures let your fantasies come alive as you parade past unsuspecting humans who may even award you a prize!

Pumpkin decorating, treat bags, and costume contest – along with special guests will keep kids entertained. Yes parents, the haunted house and graveyard are OPEN during this time, but due to content – suggested age is 8 with a parent or an adult.

There is a new attraction- Haunted Graveyard! Dare to enter this EPIC Haunted House! This walk-through style attraction is full of darkness, wrong turns, and delightfully terrifying thrills! Made it through the mansion? They have dead people in the back yard! The terror is not over. Take care where you step, and beware the SCARECROW. (Due to its graphic theme, we ask all guests 8-12 be accompanied by a parent)

Pumpkin Patch Pyramids

Something spooky is going down at the Muttart. Put on your capes, dresses, cowls and masks and have a ‘ghoulishly’ good time. Make a Halloween craft, get some treats, play some games and make some cool new friends. And don’t forget to take in our Feature Pyramid ‘Curse of the Chrysanthemummies’.

Deadmonton Haunted House

Will begin about this place with a small warning, this place might be too scary for little kids. The attraction recommends it for the kids of age 12+ years.

Taking a Haunted House tour on Halloween.. scary but a good idea we suppose. If you too think so head out the Deadmonton Haunted House this Halloween month. Deadmonton House is Edmonton's premier haunted house. Bringing you the ultimate in horror. This year they are starting their shows on September 29.These shows will be our popular Flashlights Only Event! Their lights will be turned off and each group will only get one light to try and make their way through Deadmonton House.

Spooky Saturday

Spooky Saturday is waiting. The ghosts come out as the Museum turns down the lights for its 5th year of Halloween fun. Get your family and friends together and try out your costumes early. Flashlights recommended. Tickets at the door.

All Hallow's Eve

Trick or treat! So goes the greeting from candy-seeking children who arrive at our doors. Halloween
has been celebrated in Edmonton since the 1880s so experience a bit of spooky fun at the John Walter Museum. There will be historic games, dress up in costumes and eating some sweet treats!

Medium Walk - Old Strathcona

Edmonton Ghost Tours is dedicated to bringing Edmonton’s past back to life in a thrilling and often exhilarating new way.The Edmonton Ghost Tours organizes multiple ghost tours in summer and this October they have 2 on their calendar.

This ghostly walk through Old Strathcona, where they stop in front of certain building, houses, and shops that have reported ghosts, hauntings, murders, and mysteries. They are all true stories that come from area residents and business owners. The tours are hosted by a veteran storyteller with 12 years of experience.
