Now that it’s October you have no excuse, you simply must start carving your pumpkins and get into the Halloween spirit! The question is where to get the perfect pumpkin in our fine city? You could go to whole foods OR you could have a slightly more authentic and exciting experience by visiting one of the many pumpkin patches Vancouver has to offer! Here’s a few of our fav’s to get you started on your hunt…

Pumpkin Patches Vancouver

Southland Farm Pumpkin Patch – Vancouver

The Southland Farm Pumpkin Patch on Balaclava Street is open during the month of October, seven days a week. A magical farming oasis in the city! Pumpkins are grown both onsite and offsite at Westham Island Herb Farm. A perfect pumpkin patch for easy picking – the pumpkins have all been harvested you just need to pick your fav!

Laity Pumpkin Patch – Maple Ridge

The Laity Pumpkin Patch has been 20 years in the making, a wonderful family pumpkin patch just outside the city! You will have your choice of many many pumpkins as the patch is 18 acres, and yes ladies and gents the pumpkins are ripe for picking! Pumpkins are priced $2 and up depending on the size, admission costs 5$ per person or $20 for your whole family! Also, a quick tip, bring cash – they don’t accept debit or credit.

Aldor Acres – Langley

The Aldor Acres is a fun place all year round, but the pumpkins in October certainly jazz things up. After visiting with all the animals at the petting zoo, take a tractor-pulled hayride out to the patch to find that perfect pumpkin. They grow 15 different varieties of pumpkins spread out over 20 acres, so there is sure to be one for everybody!

North Arm Farm – Pemberton

A 60 acre working organic farm, open daily to the public, just outside  of the city on the sea to sky. Make a day of picking your pumpkin by having lunch or a picnic served right at the farm!  Upick pumpkins by the pound.

The Pumpkin Patch at Richmond Country Farms – Richmond

A really fun ‘pick’ for the little ones!  Pumpkin pickers ride hay wagons past the duck ponds and waterfalls to the fields for an all out entertaining time. The Pumpkin Patch is open on weekends beginning Saturday, October 5th, 10:00 am – 4:30 pm. Saturdays and Sundays are first come first served.
