If you’re looking for fun Valentines Party Ideas for kids we’re here to help! Valentines Day is just over a month away and this year it happens to fall on a Friday- making it the perfect day for a party!

Valentines Party Ideas for Kids

Cupcake Decorating

Kids will love being creative in the kitchen while celebrating love day. Let your little ones choose from different colours of icing and candies for decorating a couple days before your party – this will amp up the excitement and get them involved in the party planning process. Strawberries and raspberries also make great Valentines decorations and are of course a healthier alternative to candies! I would recommend serving a super healthy meal before hand and do this activity towards the end of the party. Ask parents for forgiveness later!

Valentines Crafts

Valentines Day crafts are an easy way to keep your little ones occupied and engaged which makes for an easy party on your part! Just decide on a few crafts before hand or better yet get a bunch of supplies and let your little ones decide on the crafts- it’s amazing what they can come up with. Make cards, heart shaped love notes, vegetable stamps, or friendship bracelets!

Valentines Scavenger Hunt

Make cute heart shaped love clues and hide them in a safe and well-known environment. My favorite type of scavenger hunts are the ones that lead kids to a puzzle pieces on route; when all the clues are collected, kids make the puzzle and then, (carefully) flip it over and see the location of the treasure! The treasure could be anything your kids desire, but valentines cupcakes are always a safe bet!

Love-Themed Games

Games are a fun and active way to have fun with your kids on Valentines day. Here’s some of my favourite Valentines Games:

Hide-and-seek the Heart: Have one child hide the heart (you can make it out of construction paper or get a stuffed fabric heart); and then get the other children to find the heart.

Valentines Day Stories: Split kids up into 2-3 groups depending on the number of kids and get them to make up a love story and then act it out. Trust me you’ll love what they come up with!

Local events are also a great way to celebrate Valentines Day in Vancouver with your kids! Check out these family friendly events in Vancouver!
