This year’s highlights include day-long festivities and music at Granville Island, family fun at Canada Place, the annual Canada Day parade, a fireworks extravaganza at night, and so much more!

Canada Day Events in Vancouver

Canada Day at Granville Island

This City of Vancouver’s biggest Canada Day celebration is being held at Granville Island, one of Vancouver’s most famous landmarks. This year, the island features special events like a pancake breakfast, jazz concert, street festival, and parade. It’s a festival sure to dazzle the whole family.

Canada Day at Canada Place

The year’s 27th annual Canada Day at Canada Place, presented by Port Metro Vancouver, is the largest Canada Day celebration outside the nation’s capital. Head down to Canada Place on on July 1 for 13 hours of FREE family fun. Highlights include live music and dance performances with popular acts including Hannah Georgas, Hairfarmers and Watasun, and interactive activity zones featuring food carts, street hockey, an armed forces display, Salty’s Fun Zone and a circus show.

Afterward, check out the Canada Day Parade presented by Port Metro Vancouver at 7:00 p.m. and the Coast Capital Savings Canada Day Fireworks at 10:30 p.m.

Coast Capital Savings Fireworks Show

Witness Vancouver’s only two-barge simultaneous pyrotechnic extravaganza at the Coast Capital Savings Fireworks Show. Watch as the sky lights up in celebration of our nation’s birthday, with barges located in Dundarave and Coal Harbour.

Viewable from numerous locations: Harbour Green Park, Coal Harbour, Stanley Park (Vancouver Rowing Club to the 9 o’clock gun), along the seawall in between Ambleside and Dundarave, West Vancouver, and the Lower Lonsdale area in North Vancouver.

Canada Day Parade

The 7th Annual Canada Day Parade starts at the corner of Georgia and Broughton Streets. This free community event features more than 60 dynamic entries and recognizes diversity, multiculturalism and the special bond that connect all Canadians.

North Vancouver Canada Day Celebrations

Join The Lions Gate Rotary Club and The North Vancouver Canada Day Committee  to celebrate Canada’s birthday on July 1 at Waterfront Park. The North Vancouver Canada Day Celebrations are free to enjoy and include fun things to see and do for all ages!

Surrey Canada Day

This year’s Surrey Canada Day celebration is set to be the biggest Canada Day event in Western Canada. Festivities take place all day long and are followed by the largest outdoor concert in B.C. and a spectacular fireworks display at the end of the night.

Canada Day in Burnaby

Celebrate Canada Day in Burnaby with a free live concert at Swangard Stadium! This family-friendly Canada Day concert includes performances by 54-40, John & Roy and Mostly Marley. With a trio of musical acts followed by a display of fireworks, this free event is an ideal way to celebrate Canada Day.

Canada Day in Edmonds Park

Celebrate Canada Day in festive style outdoors at Edmonds Park. It’s a fun day of free family activities, face painting, music, arts and crafts, the ever popular bingo, cake, amazing multi-cultural entertainment as well as a special performance by Canadian children’s performing icon Charlotte Diamond and more.

Burnaby Village Museum Canada Day Celebrations

Burnaby Village Museum hosts Burnaby’s Official Canada Day celebrations, offering visitors the backdrop of its 1920s village streets, multi-cultural family entertainment including a musicians, displays & demonstrations. Admission is free (carousel rides are $2.55).

Canada Day in White Rock

The City of White Rock will once again be hosting the annual Canada Day by the Bay celebration along our beautiful waterfront. Bring the whole family down to the beach and spend the day listening to live entertainment at West Beach or visit the Kids Zone at East Beach where bouncy castles, face painting, balloon twisting and a sandcastle competition will keep the kids busy for hours!

Canada Day at Fort Langley

Celebrate Canada’s 148th birthday at the site where British Columbia was born, Fort Langley. Enjoy multicultural music, cake and ceremony at noon and family activities. Fort Langley’s celebration continues at the neighbouring museums: Langley Centennial Museum and the BC Farm Machinery and Agricultural Museum.

Canada Day at Steveston Salmon Festival

The people of Steveston have come together every year since 1945 to celebrate Canada’s birthday and the rich heritage of the community at the Steveston Salmon Festival. The main is the famous salmon barbecue where over 1200 pounds of wild salmon filets are grilled over open fire pits. Starting early is a pancake breakfast, then fun activities and live music fill the day. Don't miss the parade at 10!

Location: Steveston Village, Richmond

Canada Day at River Market

Celebrate Canada Day at the River Market with face painting, games, bands & more! Music Box will have an instrument petting zoo and crafts table, plus enjoy an array of bands that will be performing outside Paddlewheeler Pub overlooking the Fraser River.

Don’t miss the fireworks at 10 p.m.! This free all day event is great for the whole family.
