Canada Day is fast-approaching Halifax! If you’re on the hunt for family-friendly Canada Day 2015 events in Halifax, we’ve put together a full list of all the exciting festivities for you to enjoy with your kids on Canada’s 148th birthday.

This year’s events include the annual Canada Day celebrations in downtown Halifax and Dartmouth Crossing and an exciting day of entertainment at the Canadian Museum of Immigration at Pier 21.

Dartmouth Crossing Presents Canada Day 2015

Commemorate Canada’s 148th Birthday with your friends, family, and the Arkells!  Wear your best red & white, and enjoy a pancake breakfast, sing Oh Canada from the top of Citadel Hill, watch the Tattoo Parade in downtown Halifax and join us for the Maple Lodge Farms Family Fun-Fest on the Commons.

This incredible free entertainment is concluded with Halifax Harbour Fireworks produced by The Village Shops at Dartmouth Crossing.

Canada Day Celebrations at Halifax Citatel 

Join Parks Canada at the top of Citadel Hill inside the Halifax Citadel National Historic Site. It all starts with the firing of the iconic noon cannon followed by the twenty-one gun salute. Enjoy the music, military drill and the official Canada Day cake served by a highlander. Free Fun and entertainment for the whole family!

Canada Day Celebrations at Pier 21

enjoy fun-filled activities for the entire family at the Canadian Museum of Immigration at Pier 21. Admission is free all day, so you can explore our new permanent exhibitions too. Attend the official Citizenship Ceremony, presented in partnership with Citizenship and Immigration Canada, and join nearly 30 immigrants who will become new Canadians and renew your own Canadian citizenship!

From 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. take part in the Multicultural Fair, which features live multicultural music, family-friendly games, crafting activities, cake and much more!

Royal Nova Scotia International Tattoo

The Royal Nova Scotia International Tattoo is a week-long event held every year in the first week of July. The two-and-a-half hour family show is fast-paced, and sure to impress with traditional pipes, and acrobatics. For well over 30 years, the Tattoo has been a masterpiece of colour, music, artistry, athleticism, and nostalgia!

Canada Day Kitchen Party

At the Halifax Seaport Farmers' Market, you will find an amazing selection of vendors selling delicious local products and handcrafts, and enjoy live music and entertainment in and outside of the Market compliments of our talented buskers and special musical guests. For the kids, there are interactive displays jump castles, face painters and more!
