Ho, Ho, Ho, it’s officially the middle of November which means Christmas and the wonderful events that go with it are just around the corner! There are some truely magical Kids Christmas Events in Hamilton this holiday season, so here’s a list of the best and brightest to get you started!

Holiday Traditions Featuring the RBG Train Show 2013

When: November 14 – January 5
Where: Royal Botanical Gardens

Celebrate winter at the Royal Botanical Gardens between Nov. 14 – Jan. 5, with Holiday Traditions, RBG’s annual holiday season event featuring Canada’s best all-botanical model train installation. Weekends are filled with seasonal activities, musical entertainment, local school and adult choirs, light and model train displays, and a traditional Santa. Loads of fun for the family! Daily, 9-5 pm.

A Christmas Survival Guide 2013

When: November 29 – Dec 7 (Fri & Sat)
Where: Dreamlight Studio (Anchor Road)

Shooting Stars Theatrics Inc presents A Christmas Survival Guide this holiday season! Between family feuds, present hunting, and balancing checkbooks, stress is inevitable at Christmas. It’s supposed to be the happiest time of the year — where did we go wrong?! In this freshly fun musical revue, characters try everything to find happiness in even the most stressful of situations. Bubbling with over 30 fun carols — some new, some old favourites with new twists — escape your own holiday stress by witnessing their hilarious yet heartwarming attempts to survive Christmas!

Christmas Made by Hand

When: November 30, 10-5 pm
Where: Hamilton Convention Center

The Made by Hand Show is a showcase of all things handmade, featuring over 100 Canadian handmade exhibitors. The event will be at the Hamilton Convention Center at a cost of $5 per adult. Really a great place to shop for unique gifts this year… featuring: original artwork, baby/toys, body, candles, clothing, ceremic, fashion accessories, jewellery, paper goods, knitting pottery, paper goods, wood and gourmet goodies. There will also be free photos with santa so bring the kidlets in their finest!

First Day of Christmas 2013

When: November 20, 12 – 4 pm
Where: Dundurn Castle

Everyone’s invited to kick off the first day of Dundurn Castle’s Victorian Christmas. Join costumed interpreters at Dundurn Castle for a free visit of the lavish home of Sir Allan MacNab and his family. The Castle will be decorated by The Garden Club of Hamilton with cedar boughs, ribbons and dried flowers. Bring your family and share a Hamilton holiday tradition. Please bring a non-perishable food item to help stock the Good Shepherd’s pantry!

The City of Burlington’s Christmas Parade

When: Dec 1, 2-4 pm
Where: Burlington Mall

Santa Claus is coming to town! Enjoy the festive 48th annual Christmas parade. See the big guy in red, marching bands, and holiday floats as they make their way from the Burlington Mall to downtown via New St. Remember to dress the kidlets warm!

Sounds of Christmas

When: Dec 6, 8 pm
Where: The Burlington Performing Arts Center

The Burlington Concert Band proudly carries on a tradition by presenting it’s 11th annual Christmas concert on December 6th. Enjoy traditional Christmas favourites that will fill you with the Christmas spirit. The Enchorus Youth Choir directed by Catherine Richardson will also be performing! This is a Christmas event not to be missed. $20 per person.

The Nutcracker

When: Dec 13 & 14, 7 pm
Where: The Burlington Performing Arts Center

The Nutcracker Ballet, performed by the Rudolf Nureyev State Ballet features traditional choreography and dazzling imagery, and has become a timeless holiday tradition and the perfect way to enjoy the season with friends and family. For the past 100 years, this classic ballet has added an element of fantasy to the holiday season, making it just that much more magical. Really a wonderful way to inspire the little ballarina’s in your family!
