Keeping kids engaged and active is something all parents want but lets face it, sometimes it’s a struggle to find activities that keep the little ones entertained. That’s why we’ve compiled a list of some of the best activities for kids in Saskatoon!
Saskatoon’s Forestry Farm Park & Zoo, is a both a national historic site and a great place for kids and families to enjoy spending time together. The naturally themed playground and Zoo are especially fun for kids. There is a toll charge to enter the heritage site but it’s only $2 per vehicle (May- Sept); if you want to go to the zoo though you have to pay a bit extra. There are also some cool programs for kids to partake in such as Zoo School and Zoo Club. Among other things, at Zoo school students will learn that all living things, including themselves, depend upon the interrelationships among plants and animals- a very important lesson in this day and age!

The Fun Factory on Quebec Ave, boasts a 1600 square foot play unit complete with tunnels, slides, ball pits, and more! A separate toddler play area is equipped with a ball-pit, slides and other fun activities for 1 to 3 year olds. The great thing about this facility is there is a big emphasis on safety and cleanliness – the play unit thoroughly cleaned regularily so you don’t have to worry about unsanitary conditions. Also a great place to host a birthday party!
A wonderful place for kids in Saskatoon to learn through interactive play and discovery. The exhibits encourage creativity, curiosity and life-long learning. Highlights for kids include the Arts and Craft room, where children can use any of the materials available to create something unique. They are invited to explore and experiment, and find new ways to put things together, and new ways to express themselves. Another fun exhibit is the Muddy Paws Animal Clinic - a vet clinic where children learn about taking care of animals. The best part …admission is cheap, $3.75 per person.
Saskatoon has 5 indoor rinks where kids can do a variety of activities such as figure skating, speedskating, hockey and ringette. A perfect way to keep active and entertained this winter!
Saskatoon’s premier indoor rock climbing facility is one of the best of it’s kind in North America and a great place for kids to explore their monkey side. Rock climbing helps kids overcome fears and is a wonderful activity for overall health. Definitely worth checking out, especially in winter when it’s too cold to do anything outdoors!
Kinsmen Park Rides has been around for over 100 years and continues to be a super popular destination for families in the summer. Kinsmen Play Village features a supervised paddling pool and accessible playground that provides hours of entertainment and fun for children of all ages and the Rides are designed to maximize enjoyment for kids! Make a day of it and bring a picnic.
