5 Kid Friendly Coffee Shops in Edmonton

Published Jan 2, 2020 | Updated Feb 19, 2020

If you're a coffee lover, one of these shops is the perfect place for you. Sip away while your kids can play!

Have your coffee and drink it too! If you’re like me and love a good cup of coffee or two (or three or four) then you may already know of these treasures. If not, these are a great way to spend a day!

Here's the top 5 Kid Friendly Coffee Shops in Edmonton & Area!

Café O’ Play

Taking coffee and “kid-friendly” to a whole new level! Their motto “sit, sip & watch them play” is 100% accurate, and I must say this is the one to beat. Café O’Play has a relaxing ambiance with a fireplace and all, which is separated from a 1,000 square foot indoor playground where your kids can have tons of fun in a safe, secure and clean environment. This is in fact the cheapest indoor play option around Edmonton, plus you get that quiet cup of joe you’ve been longing for.

Indoor Playground is $7 per child (ages 1-6) and siblings are $3.50
Happy hour is only $3.50 for the last 4 hours of play!

Weekdays 9am- 8pm, Saturday 9am- 3pm, closed Sundays.
Located at 5667 Riverbend Road, Edmonton - Visit Website

Hide N Seek

Designed especially with parents and caregivers in mind, Hide N Seek is a place to relax and unwind, all while the little ones explore Edmonton's newest and largest indoor playground. Check out the Orange Tree Cafe, serving gourmet coffee, a full menu, and healthy snacks for your kids. Time to head there and put up your feet!

$12.95 on weekdays, and $14.95 on weekends, adults free. Prices are tiered for younger children.

Open daily 9am- 9pm
Located at 10830 170 St NW, Edmonton - Visit Website

Juniper Bistro & Cafe

Okay, is a restaurant not a coffee shop, but they do serve amazing coffee and had to be on the list because this kid-friendly spot is great for parents! They have a gated play area, so as long as you get a table next to it, you have a view of your children and can keep an eye on them while they run free and you sip on your drink. The food here is AMAZING! There’s also a great kids menu which is sure to please the picky eaters or the young connoisseurs.

Open Tuesday- Sunday (Closed Monday) and times vary.

Fun Place & Café

Powered by Inflatable Fun, they’ve created a stylish and comfortable environment for families to relax and enjoy themselves. You’ll catch Fun Place & Café serving premium coffees, fresh & healthy food, tasty baked goods, and all with a friendly touch. Kids have access to the Fun Place, with a games area, playhouse, toys, and of COURSE: inflatables! It’s like a birthday party every day!

Fun Place is $6 for children 1+

Maybe not what you were expecting, but Chapters is a great place to spend a few hours! There’s an amazing children’s section where your kids can browse books, look through all of the toys, and play at the train table. And guess what else is in Chapters? Coffee! The Starbuck’s is conveniently nestled inside, so it may be a different atmosphere than those coffee shops turned playgrounds, but it’s free and will likely keep the kidlets entertained until the last sip!

The Strathcona locations also has storytimes and other great events from time to time, which we post up on the ChatterBlock website!

Monday-Saturday 10am-10pm and Sundays 10am-7pm

Tiramisu Bistro ditched their kids room for a private function room. I made the mistake of going there with my kids to have a informal meeting where I could talk business whilst my children play.

Big mistake.
