Canada Day is about to hit the Queen City. If you’re looking for fun, family-friendly Canada Day 2014 events in Regina, we’ve put together a list of all the great activities that you can enjoy with your kids to mark Canada’s 147th birthday on July 1.

The 2014 Regina Canada Day Celebration

The feature event of The 2014 Regina Canada Day Celebration is Western Canada’s Strongman Competition, featuring only Canadian athletes. Other fabulous attractions include the Canadian Citizenship Ceremony, KAOS dog shows, a horseback display, the provincial kick volleyball tournament, dragon boat rowing, face painting, and much more. There’s a concert featuring big-name bands in the evening, followed by fireworks at 10:30 p.m.

Canada Day Garden Party

The Lieutenant Governor’s Garden Party will take place on the beautiful grounds of Government House. Everyone is welcome and there is no admission fee. The day includes entertainment, children’s activities, and complimentary refreshments. Plus, Government House will be open for tours.

RCMP Sergeant Major’s Parade

Don’t miss your opportunity to catch one of the Force’s traditional ceremonies. The Sergeant Major’s Parade has its origins in the history and traditions of the North West Mounted Police. This parade was one of the three parades scheduled throughout the day. The objective was to ensure that all the men were accounted for. Deserters were the responsibility of the Sergeant Major.

2014 Canada Day Regatta

Athletes from British Columbia, Alberta, Manitoba, and Saskatchewan are traveling to Regina to compete in the 2014 Canada Day Classic—the largest regatta in Western Canada. For all your food and drink needs, there’s a canteen located on site.

Canada Day 10th Annual Plywood Cup

The Canadian Progress Club Regina Centre is proud to present the 10th annual Plywood Cup at Wascana Park on July 1st. Over the past 9 years, the event has raised over $325,000 for pediatric healthcare.
