1. Annual Antelope Crossing Spooktacular

Enjoy live entertainment, carnival games, face painting, holiday shopping at the vendor craft fair, and other fun activities at the 11th Annual Antelope Crossing Spooktacular. Plus, attendees receive free raffle tickets for some really cool prizes. Come early to sign up for and participate in the highlight of the day: the Children’s Costume Contest!

2. Spookomotive Train Ride

This delightful, not frightful, train is just the ticket for the whole family. On weekends in October, guests will enjoy exciting on-board entertainment and a tasty Halloween treat. The whimsically decorated and diesel-powered train ride is crawling with spiders, cobwebs and cornstalks, and staffed by a “skeleton crew.” Train ride guests are encouraged to get in the spirit and dress up according to fun weekly themes!

Since 1991, Halloween Haunt has offered a unique setting and safe alternative to Trick-or-Treating for families with young children. Set in Safetyville USA, the unique miniature city, the event features carnival games, a costume parade, safety demonstrations and activities, and of course, trick-or-treat stations!

4. Midtown Halloween Festival & Pooch Parade

Four-legged friends will strut their stuff and show off some creative costumes for a chance to win prizes! The event will also highlight Midtown’s popular mobile off-lease “Pop-Up Dog Park” and include family-friendly activities, such as face painting, a bounce house, hands-on arts and crafts and entertaining live music.

5. Falling Leaf Craft Festival

This fun festival includes great family fun with themed games, prizes, and a great silent raffle auction, a doggy costume and pumpkin carving contest, and more! Follow the Yellow Brick Road for four nights of trick-or-treating and family fun at the 33rd annual Safe & Super Halloween. You'll get a chance to meet all your favourite Wizard of Oz characters. But watch out: the Wicked Witch of the West and her flying monkeys might make an appearance.

8. Elk Grove GIANT Pumpkin Festival

A pumpkin that weighs as much as a small car and giant pumpkins being carved into canoes and raced across a lake—the Elk Grove GIANT Pumpkin Festival has all of this and more. Kids will love the pumpkin patch, Kids Zone, and Children's Arts and Crafts Area while adults get in on the pumpkin pie-eating contest action.

Why not try something a little different this Halloween? The New Aquatic Center is hosting its annual Splashing Pumpkins event, where you get to swim to your favourite pumpkin. After, stick around for Spookfest in the Pat O'Brien Community Center for carnival games, a candy walk, photo booth, costume contest, and more.

When: October 12 - Splashing Pumpkins from 1pm-3pm, Spookfest from 3pm-6pm
