A six-week holiday extravaganza that will be highlighted by the Golden State Hockey Rush on December 18, an event designed to celebrate the exciting sport of ice hockey in the great State of California. Come experience the biggest show on snow, with ice skating, an ice slide, Santa photo opportunities, get your holiday tree and do some holiday shopping!

Make your holidays magical this holiday season by heading to Old Sacramento’s 7th Annual Macy’s Theatre of Lights. The free outdoor performances artfully mix the historic charm of Old Sacramento with state-of-the-art sound and lighting technology to create a memorable and visually-exciting holiday experience for visitors of all ages.

Galena Street East, California’s young performing ambassadors, will light up the stage and make history during the 44th Annual Holiday Tapestry” Christmas show, entitled A Winter Celebration. Comprised of local Sacramento area performers from the ages of four to eighteen, these talented entertainers will dazzle Sacramento audience members with songs and dances that celebrate the joy and beauty of the holiday season.
December 4-5 (2 shows) at Hiram Johnson High School
The Sacramento Gay Men’s Chorus launches into its fourth decade of entertaining the Sacramento region with a brand new holiday show continuing their tradition of blending unique entertainment and musical excellence. Join the chorus as they head on down to Aunt Pearl’s for her annual holiday shindig.
December 4-5 at the First United Methodist Church
The Sacramento Valley Concert Choir (SVCC) is thrilled and honored to sing again in the State Capitol Holiday Music Program! Join the group in the festive Capitol Rotunda, where the acoustics are stunning and the holiday spirit runs high. Voices of more than 70 SVCC men and women reverberate in rich, four-part harmony around the rotunda, down the hallowed halls, and to the tip-top arch of the Capitol dome.
December 5 at the California State Capitol Museum
The ladies of Chanteuses, a 16 voice A Cappella choir, under the direction of Dr. Chris Alford, are performing a thrilling program of Christmas and holiday music (including the Sacramento premiere of Lana Walter's Magnificat) plus a stunning arrangement of O Magnum Mysterium in the beautiful St. John's Lutheran Church.

Crockett-Deane Ballet Company and the Deane Dance Center present its annual holiday performance of the Nutcracker Suite and Christmas Angels. The Nutcracker is a one-act, family-friendly, narrated version of the familiar holiday story set to the beautiful music of Tchaikovsky. Christmas Angels tells the familiar story of Christmas set to traditional holiday carols.
December 12-13 (multiple shows), by the Deane Cance Center
Tis the season for holiday movies. A Christmas Story is the classic tale of youth in the days of radio and holiday icons galore. The Crest Theatre is pleased to bring back this timeless classic to the big screen. As a special treat, the local band Kittens Having Kittens will perform in the lobby before the evening show.

The Santa Parade is a Sacramento tradition. The parade features marching bands, clowns, youth groups, horses, antique vehicles and Santa Claus.
December 12 at Capitol Park
The Arthritis Foundation’s long-running Jingle Bell Run is a festive race that helps champion arthritis research and brings people from all walks of life together, to say "Yes" to furthering a great cause. This annual event is a fun way to get out, get moving, and raise funds and awareness. Whether you prefer to walk or run, be sure to wear your ugly Christmas sweater or tie jingle bells to your shoes; this 5K is sure to spread smiles, holiday cheer, and a winning spirit.
