Growing Brilliant Learning Center

Growing Brilliant offers research-based early Developmental Classes for babies, toddlers, and preschoolers to attend with their caretakers. Their goal is promote early literacy and language development in young children while stimulating their social, intellectual, and physical growth. While most of their classes are during school hours they have several classes for you to attend after school such as their Kindergarten Readiness program on Wednesday afternoons from 2:30-5pm. The Growing Brilliant Kindergarten Readiness class prepares preschool students for the newly implemented Common Core State Standards required of K-12 students in multiple states, including California. With the right instruction, preschoolers are actually quite capable of mastering many of the kindergarten standards… but we didn’t have to tell you that did we;)

Also, the first class is always FREE at Growing Brilliant so you can try it out a program and make sure it’s the right fit for you and your child before you commit.

Children’s Athletic Conditioning at Tokon Martial Arts

The beneficial effects of  Tokon Martial Art’s programs  in Athletic conditioning and Karate typically exceed most parents expectations. Parents highly appreciate the challenging dose of physical activity their children get at Tokon Martial Arts and the kids love it. Pee-Wee Junior Tennis at McKinley Park

Pee-Wee Junior Tennis at McKinley Park Feb 3 – 26 & March 3- 26 (2014) is a wonderful way for your little ones (aged 4-7) to keep busy a couple days a week after school this spring. Through eye-hand activities and games, children can develop a foundation for the basic skills of tennis. An introduction to handling a racquet, seeing balls bounce and having the two actions come together. Fun is the focus and parent participation is encouraged. Tennis balls are provided and racquets available upon request.

Beginner Violin Lessons

Learn to make your strings sing at Newsongs School of Music: begin with ‘Twinkle Twinkle Little Star’ and progress to simple folk songs. Along the way, practice winning posture, rhythmic skill, and fine-tune your ears to make a perfect tone. Parent participation encouraged; but not required. Beginner lessons offered in Feb, March, April & May 2014.

Mad Science After School Programs

In Mad Science after-school programs, children engage in exciting hands-on activities, watch spectacular demonstrations, participate in inquiry-based discussions and bring home make-and-take projects they have made themselves! Model rockets, periscopes, Mad Science putty, and more! Their hands-on, one-hour science programs are themed around a particular area of science and include such topics as chemistry, space science, electricity, magnetism, optics, biology and many more.
