It wouldn’t be so difficult if she were born in the summer, when a warm beach and a box of popsicles could satisfy any child and dad. But what to do in VictoriaBC in the middle of winter with a group of children, when all I want to do is sit by a cosy fireplace and curl up with a good book?
So, off to the Internet for some research, and at the prodding of my husband James, I’m turning this research into a series of blog posts on Children’s Birthday Party Ideas forVictoriaBC. I’m going to write four blog posts, covering:
1 – Party Options for Crafty Kids
2 – Cool & Unusual Birthday Parties
3 – Parties for the Active Child or Teen
4 – Free, Low-Cost, & Do-It Yourself Birthday Parties
and will be releasing a new blog post in this series every week.
So, here are the ideas for the first blog post -> Party Options for Crafty Kids

Each painter gets to choose a piece of pottery and try their hand at painting it using brushes and/or stencils and stamps. At Crafty, you can choose from 4 different crafty creation themed parities where guests can make and take home their pottery, bath products, or woolly creations. Michael’s Craft Store has some great crafty party options for children that include beading, painting, and building a bear. The store requires a minimum of 5 guests and the cost of the party is dependent on the type of project you decided upon.
Would love to hear from you readers if you know of any additional party ideas for the “crafty kid” or if you have had any experience with these venues. Cheers until next time, when I take a peek at some cool and unusual birthday party offerings.
