Our Awesome Experience at Lizzy Lee & Me!

Published May 26, 2019 | Updated Feb 19, 2020

Is it time to take your kiddo for a haircut? Or maybe a little birthday party pampering session with their friends? I would highly recommend making your way down to Hillside Centre and trying out Lizzy Lee & Me! My 5 year old daughter had an absolute blast getting her haircut and  "The Ultimate Make-over". Check out our review below!

Does the thought of taking your son or daughter to get a haircut make you cringe? When my daughter Kaia was 2 I took her to get her first haircut at an adult oriented salon and it did not go over well. She had a melt down at the door as soon as we got in from her anxiety.  I had to convince her dad to awkwardly trim her baby hairs when she was distracted the following weekend.

Thankfully,  a mom friend from preschool let me know about "Lizzy Lee & Me" we will never have to go through that again! Kaia loves getting her haircut there now and always asks to go back. This time after her usual haircut and style, we tried out  "The Ultimate Make-over" package. Safe to say it was an even bigger hit than the haircut!

Blue, our hairdresser, put on a show that Kaia got to pick out on a little TV (Paw Partol...shocking, I know), and she was distracted enough that she let her brush, cut, and style her hair no problem. Blue added some cute, pink, washable highlights and Kaia got to pick out a prize from the toy/lollipop rack when they were finished!

Next, we came back for a Lizzy Lee & Me Makeover to try something new! Kaia got to pick out her makeover theme (she picked Fairy) and Somaya styled her hair in an adorable half up-do with sparkles and cupcake scented hairspray that she insisted on keeping in for two days.

After the up-do was done, Somaya took Kaia to get her face painted. She did a beautiful fairy inspired design and even gave her a pair of fairy wings to take home! Next we moved on to get a mini manicure. Kaia got to pick out her polish and loved getting her nails painted.

To wrap up the whole experience, my daughter got to pick between making her own scented bubble bath, or making her own lip gloss. Tough choice but she finally settled on the lip gloss. She even got to add her own pink tint and sparkles and mix it in.

Overall, if you are looking for a fun birthday party idea, a new rainy day activity, or even just a place that ensures your kids haircut will be something they look forward to, check out Lizzy Lee & Me. My daughter loved her experience there and I'm sure your kids will too!
