It's finally summer! Now is the time to hit up all the great outdoor events and things to do with your kids. We have put together a list of our top picks this month so you can focus on the fun and just show up!

From cultural events to the circus to mud runs, we've got you covered for everything happening in June! 

1. Clothesline Festival and Art Sale

The Clothesline Festival & Art Sale 2019 presents over 1500 pieces of Alberta-made art and fine crafts.

Come enjoy the 80-acre historic Leighton property with many family-fun activities including live music, artist demonstrations, childrens' art activities, face painting (by donation) and local food vendors.  Free admission all weekend.

2. Superhero Day at the Library

Crowfoot, Country Hills, Central, Quarry Park, and Village Square libraries will be transformed into Superhero Headquarters! Come make your own comic book, meet your favourite superheroes, test your superhero skills with feats of strength and smarts, and more — all for free. Family friendly costumes are encouraged.

3. Fourth Street Lilac Festival

At the Lilac Festival, there is an activity made for all ages. This could mean a jump in the bouncer for the kids, discovering a great new band, choosing a perfect summer patio or searching for a trendy fashion; there is no shortage of things happening.

4. Father's Day BBQ

Come on down to the Panorama Hills Community Centre with your whole family to celebrate dad! There will be lots of games, a photobooth and fun activites for the whole family.

5. Inglewood Night Market

The Inglewood Night Market is a modern day market that occurs every second Friday in the summer months in Calgary Alberta. Each event hosts over 50 local vendors selling diverse goods from handmade craftsmen items to vintage clothing, antiques & collectibles, artisan eats & more! You’ll also find food trucks, singer songwriters, bands, dancers, outdoor seating, a family friendly licenced area and other fun things to check out!

6. Riddim West

Featuring world-class musical performers from Canada and the world, Calgary ReggaeFest is a family-friendly event that has thrilled “Rastagarians” for 14 years and the 15th edition will be just the same. Come and celebrate with great music, great drinks and great friends! 

Interactive Kids Zone open from 2:30 pm - 8:00 pm featuring crafts, face painting, photo booth and more. 12 & under admitted Free with a paying adult.

7. Royal Canadian Family Circus Spectac!

The all new internationally renowned Royal Canadian family Circus Spectac!, is jam packed with explosive live entertainment bringing tradition and thrilling acts featuring the Flying Cortes Trapeze family, acrobatics, death-defying Wheel of Destiny, Xtreme Chinese Acrobats including chair balancing, contortion, diablo, and towering feats of balancing strength, Comedy fearless Gonzalez Motorcycle Globe, Hula Hoops, MotoSwing athleticism and beautiful Aerialists.

8. Neighbour Day Market & Festival

This brand new event brings all of our neighbours together for a wonderful celebration! They will be having local vendors displaying their unique products, entertainment and amazing food throughout the day! The market kicks off at 12:00PM with a variety of shows and entertainers. Everyone welcome!

Come enjoy the splash park and some local food vendors as well!

9. SOGO Fun Run

A family focused event that challenges all kids ages 2 - 18 to a wet, slightly muddy adventure running course. Different distances are available with fun challenges thrown into the mix. Race distances are approximately 1.5 kms and 3.5 kms. There will be BBQ hot dogs and drinks too!

10. Livingston Place Market

 2019 Marks the 9th year this great outdoor Market at the beautiful Livingston Place will take place. 

You will find everything from produce, breads, soups, sauces, art, clothing, jewelry, etc. Plus food trucks and entertainment during the lunch hour.

11. Remington Race for Pace

It’s time to embrace your inner hero and run or walk for children with special needs at Remington Race for Pace! Join in the fun and help Pacekids change lives on Saturday, June 22nd by participating in a 1km Superhero Parade, 5km walk/run, or 10km run.

12. Mud Fair 2019

It's a family fun-filled day where everyone is encouraged to get a little dirt on their hands! Mud pits, a mud slide, mud kitchens are just a few of the muddy fun activities.

Enjoy live music, outdoor yoga, have lunch from the food trucks and browse the green market. Stop by the community art collaboration - Mud City, led by the art educators of Nature Kindergarten. Hose down with water-filled tanks or sprayed down by the Priddis and Spruce Meadows Fire Department before you head home. Be sure to bring your own towels and wear your boots! Activities for children of all ages.

13. School of Rock Calgary South Spring Concert

School of Rock is a music school for all skill levels, ages, and musical aspirations. With students ranging from toddlers to adults, School of Rock is where music students grow into real musicians. Come see them live for these amazing themes: 80's Hair Nation, 70's Classics, 60's Masters!

14. Summer Kick Off Party

Come for the games, crafts, fun, and food! Bring the whole family and get ready for some summer kick off fun!

15. Flying Squirrel

  1. Toddler Time - Bring the little ones for their own jump time! Beat the crowds and have some fun with your kids at the same time at Flying Squirrel trampoline park! Mon-Fri 10am -1pm, Sat and Sun 10am-11am.
  2. Neon Lights - Every Friday and Saturday night at 9PM-Midnight, Flying Squirrel is transformed. They turn off the lights, turn up the music and fire up the lasers, black-lights, strobes and more. Imagine a dance club on trampolines! Enjoy access to all the courts at the park–including glow in the dark trampoline dodgeball!
