Kids Christmas Events in Nashville 2019

With Thanksgiving just around the corner, we're starting to look for local Christmas events to get into the Holiday Spirit. Here's some information about some amazing events happening in Nashville this year.

A Country Christmas

When: November 8, 2019, to January 1, 2020
Where: Gaylord Opryland Resort 

This year, A Country Christmas at the Gaylord Opryland Resort and Convention Center bring you ICE!, and indoor winter wonderland. Guests will enjoy hand-carved scenes from the movie A Christmas Carol, two-story tall ice slides, 2 million pounds of colorful ice sculptures, and more. Make sure to bundle up!

Patrick Barlow's A Christmas Carol

When: Select days from November 29 to December 22, 2019
Where: Tennessee Performing Arts Center

Join the holiday party of the year! The Ghosts of Christmases Past, Present, and Future journey through time to remind an iron-hearted Scrooge what Christmas is truly about. This thrilling adaptation by Patrick Barlow brings Charles Dickens’ most beloved characters to life using five actors, imaginative props, and mesmerizing design. A true celebration of theatre and the holiday season, Barlow's "A Christmas Carol" is a magnificent twist on this timeless story of redemption.You’ll laugh, you’ll cry, and you’ll leave Nashville Rep full of holiday cheer!

Rudolph's Red Nose Run

When: December 7, 2019
Where: Downtown Nashville

Bring your costumes and get some exercise before the Holiday Season at Ruldoph's 39th annual run to benefit NeedLink Nashville! Post-race snacks and photos with Rudolph will be available.

Nashville's Christmas Parade

When: December 7, 2019
Where: Downtown Nashville

The Nashville Christmas Parade has been a Middle Tennessee tradition since 1927. This year's parade will be the biggest yet! The parade will feature show-stopping performances. It will held rain or shine, so make sure you are there to celebrate!

Holiday Spectacular & Sing-A-Long

When: December 7, 2019
Where: Schermerhorn Symphony Center

Get in the spirit of the season with a concert of holiday favorites. Frosty, Rudolph and Santa’s elves are preparing a festive morning for kids of all ages where everyone can join in the fun and sing along! Starting at 10 am, show up early for fun, family-friendly pre-concert activities, including the Instrument Petting Zoo, crafts, a book nook, and much more. This sensory-friendly concert offers a relaxed atmosphere for patrons of all ages, including accommodations for people on the autism spectrum and people with sensory sensitivities.

Nashville's Nutcracker

When: Select times December 7 to 23, 2019
Where: Andrew Jackson Hall

Nashville's Nutcracker is back for another season to spread some holiday joy. Join Clara on her journey through an enchanted dreamland to turn her toy nutcracker into a prince. This production will appeal to all ages. 

GLOW Nashville

When: November 22 to December 31, 2019
Where: First Tennessee Park

Make a trip to First Tennessee Park for the must-see Christmas attraction in Nashville. GLOW feature millions of lights, ice sculptures, one of the country's largest Christmas trees, ice skating, and tubing. You can also visit Santa's Workshop. 

Holiday Lights at Cheekwood

When: November 23, 2019, to January 5, 2020
Where: Cheekwood

Visit Cheekwood's botanical gardens this Christmas to take in an enchanting holiday lights display. On weekends, guests have the chance to take part in festive activities, such as meeting Santa and real reindeer, making s'mores, listening to carolers, drinking holiday drinks, and more.

Breakfast with Santa

When: November 30, 2019
Where: Maggiano's Little Italy

Fill your bellies with a delicious breakfast buffet, and meet Santa too! All young guests will take home a special treat. Don't forget to bring your camera!

Zoolumination: Chinese Festival of Lights

When: November 15, 2019, to December 30, 2020
Where: Nashville Zoo

You've never seen anything like this before! The Zoolumination: Chinese Festival of Lights showcases over 500 custom-made silk lanterns across 60 acres. Take in elaborate displays, holiday-themed scenes, and a 200-foot-long dragon. Also, make sure you visit the North Pole Village where Santa will be making nightly appearances.
