My Playzone Party Experience

Published Nov 14, 2018

For many parents, planning your kids birthday party is a challenging task. After much consideration and research, I decided to have my five year old's birthday party at Playzone! Check out my experience to see if a Playzone party is the best option for your little ones birthday as well.

When planning my daughters fifth birthday, I felt the typical pressure to make it special and fun for her and all her guests. One of her school friends had hosted her party the month before at Playzone so it was on my daughters radar as an exciting spot.

Getting Prepared

I started by phoning City Centre Park to inquire about party times and dates. I was pleased to hear that there was a wide range of options and times to host the party.

After going through the options I settled on the "Playzone Party" package on a Saturday afternoon. It was the more expensive option than the "Early Bird" morning time party, but I felt it was the perfect time and was still more affordable with better value than most other venues I looked into. $160.25 + tax for 8 kids included kids choice of hot-dog or grilled cheese lunch with chips and a juice box.

At the Party

When we arrived it was very busy! A rainy Saturday means Playzone will be a popular spot - something to keep in mind. We had three large picnic tables sectioned off for us and our guests. After settling in and setting up a few balloons the kids began to arrive. The kids were all having such a blast playing in the huge indoor jungle gym that we only saw them when they would emerge looking for water or when it was lunch time. Great exercise and nice to have them getting their crazy energy out in a forgiving atmosphere.

Lunch Time

Half-way through the two hour party, the employee host that was attending our party asked us if we were ready for the kids lunches to get brought out. Upon arriving, each guest had been asked if they preferred a hot-dog or grilled cheese entree. Our host brought the lunches out and served the kids at our reserved picnic table which was helpful and fuss free.

Birthday Cake and Gifts

Toward the end of our two hour time slot, we brought out the cake we had bought. Our Playzone host provided cutlery and plates and cut the cake for us to hand out. It was helpful to have someone taking care of organizing the food and the clean up.

Overall I would highly recommend looking into Playzone as an option for your child’s birthday party! It was so nice to have a break while the kids disappeared into the adventurous playground.

The highlights of booking here:

  • Staff were very welcoming and helpful
  • Plenty of space for the caregivers to sit, chat, and have a coffee
  • No clean up
  • No dealing with the lunch and snack planning
  • The kids has an absolute blast!

We had a birthday at the Splash Park and were so disappointed with the experience, we found the staff to be young and uninterested in our party experience. When I called to complain I was promised a call back from the manager but instead an email was sent to my wife to avoid dealing with me. The email stated what they should have done but no offer to make it right. We’ll never go there again, $250 down the drain
