The Best Parks and Playgrounds in Oklahoma

When your kids and you are itching to get outside for active playtime, why not check out Oklahoma's best playgrounds or parks.


We all know that the best things in life are free, which includes spending time outdoors with your kids at a playground or park. We've come up with a list of our all-time favorite playground and parks for kids of all ages to explore in Omaha. Enjoy exploring! 

Children's Park

Opens daily from 6AM to 11PM

This is the perfect area for children to play! There's a lake and tons of open fields for everyone to run around on. The park is also a great place to see nature, relax, riding bikes, walk, jog, or just hang out. Plus you can fish and put your boat/canoe out on the water as well. An added bonus of this park is there that are many areas that available by the water to have a family cookout & they the a pet park is awesome for those with dogs. 

 

Route 66 Park


9901 NW 23rd, Oklahoma City
Open 24 hours daily

We think your entire family will surely love this place! Route 66 Park has a big playground for the kids and a walking path around the park. You can also go out to the ponds to take the kids fishing and to learn about the historic Route 66. This park is also handicap accessible.


Quail Creek Park

This park is a large, very open area that is great to take your kids and your dogs to. The park is about 1/2 mile long and narrow, running along the main street to the Quail Creek neighborhood. There are a couple of picnic tables, benches, a large playground, bicycle rack, pavilion, and walking/biking trail.


Macklanburg Park


2234 NW 117th St, Oklahoma City
Open 24 hours daily

Macklanburg Park offers a recreation center, gymnasium, swimming pool, sprayground, playground, baseball field, and tennis courts. This is a great little neighborhood park. Our favorite part of the park in the summer is splashpad, which is great for cooling off. 


Bluff Creek Park

Opens Daily from 5AM to 11PM

This is such a lovely park! There are trails, a playground, covered tables, benches, and plenty of open space. This also one of the best places to go to see wildlife birds and deer. You have to take a walk around the trails and paths for a quick workout.


Martin Park Nature Center

Opens daily 5AM to 6PM

If you're looking for some nature while living the city life then this is a great place to go. That park is complete with a playground and many different trails to go on small hikes. Some wildlife roaming around include deers, ducks, turtles, and even armadillos.


Perle Mesta Park

Opens daily from 8AM to 11PM

This is cute, little park close to downtown is a good place to hang out with friends and play outdoor games.  Perle Mesta Park is located on the southeast corner of Shartel and 19th in OKC. The northwest corner is beautifully landscaped, and there are two sand volleyball courts nearby. There is also a large gazebo on the park grounds, and playground equipment.
