The final weekend of summer vacation is near! Before the kids head back to school, try to soak in some family time and head to some of these fantastic events.
Alright Edmontonians, here's your top Labour Day weekend events in Edmonton for families:
This years event will be their 28th BBQ and will be held on Monday September 4th, 2017 from 11:30am-3:30pm at Giovanni Caboto Park.

It’s a time for celebrating the fruits of labour and kicking up our heels before the leaves fall.
Unplug, get your hands dirty, eat some pie, and spend time with friends and family. The weekend starts on Friday night with the Harvest Hoedown, Dinner and Dance with Danny Hooper and The Honky Tonk Heroes. The fun continues throughout the long weekend.

One sure sign that summer is coming to an end is the departure of the sheep that call Fort Saskatchewan home each summer. Everyone is invited to join in the annual sheep leaving parade - the sheep will make their traditional walk from Legacy Park through downtown and ending up at the Fort Heritage Precinct. It is the final farewell to the sheep until next spring.

More than just a sporting event, the ATB Tour of Alberta is a spectacular travelling festival. Free to the public, it is one of Canada’s largest annual festivals.
The festivals occur in every start and finish community and provide educational, community outreach, and healthy living programs in a festive environment with entertainment, family fun and kids’ activities.

NEBA (North Edmonton Business Association) in collaboration with Canadian Multi-Cultural Education Foundation (CMEF) has planned the 2nd Annual Multi-Cultural Children's Talent & Fashion Show. The children can participate in the multi-cultural fashion show by wearing a traditional outfit show their heritage or customs. They will then randomly select one entrant to win NEBA NPC Scholarship.

Canada has always been a land of vibrant skyscapes and Beaver Hills Dark Sky Preserve works to keep Elk Island skies naturally dark, wild and alive.Taking place over two days at two different locations, the Beaver Hills Dark Sky Preserve’s 12th annual Star Party will be your gateway to the stars. Featuring volunteer astronomers to provide you with stargazing tips, guest speakers to cause you to marvel at the sky, and local musical performances to fill the air with festive spirit, this 2 day event will keep your whole family entertained.
The Star Party will be at Miquelon Lake Provincial Park on Saturday and at Elk Island National Park on Sunday.
