If you are looking for an amazing holiday festival that is a multi-cultural celebrate we suggest taking the family to Global Winter Wonderland. This year there will be awe-inspiring illuminated landscapes celebrating holidays for all over world, entertainment by Circus of Light, holiday ice skating, thrill rides, food, photos with Santa, and much more!

Join the fun at the 39th annual Holiday Show of Hands, an arts and crafts Christmas sale featuring custom work by over 150 craftsmen and artists! This year features a fashion pavilion, beauty boutique, a “man cave,” plus an exciting silent auction with more than 500 items!
Santa will be there to take pictures with the kids, plus enjoy delicious food, free parking, and more.

When: Dec 1st - 9th
It’s Christmas again! So why not bring the family out to see Ben Scrooge, a young and wealthy video game designer, and get visited by spirits of the past, present, and future. Will Ben learn to change his ways before it’s too late? This modern retelling of the Charles Dickens novel is sure to put you in the holiday spirit.

Get ready to ice skate all night long! Enjoy games, prizes, sing Christmas songs, a live DJ, awesome laser light shows, black and disco lights and a pile of snow play in. This is a family-friendly event so everyone is welcome.
Note: Dress warm and in layers and wear one pair of tall thin socks and gloves.

When: Dec 7th
Another great holiday event in Sacramento is the 86th Annual Capitol Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony on the West Steps of the State Capitol. This year’s tree is a 65-foot-tall white fir is from Latour Demonstration State Forest located near Redding in Shasta County.

Bundle up the family and come enjoy the holiday season at Holiday Magic! The highlight of the day is watching the animals receive special holiday treats. Yum! The staff will also be on hand to share facts, secrets and answer your questions.

The weekend before Christmas is always the perfect time to get out of the house, enjoy some local festivities, and finish preparing for the holiday. Avoid the overcrowded malls for the Sacramento Christmas Market hosted by Meet Your Village. The Christmas Market will feature vendors with a wide variety of items to get help you get some of your last minute shopping done.

In true Christmas spirit Fairytale Town is having a free admission day on Christmas Eve. Bring the entire family out and enjoy this festive event together from 10am to 4pm.
Where: Downtown Sacramento at St. Rose of Lima

Last but not least is one of our favorite holiday activities in the city. The downtown Sacramento Ice Rink is open daily. For the event's 25th anniversary there will be holiday carolers, both gloves, socks and lockers (for a small fee) Admission ranges so bring your spare change and get ready to have a good time.
