6 Best Pumpkin Patches & Corn Mazes Around Ottawa

Published Aug 23, 2019 | Updated Sep 12, 2019

October isn’t complete without taking the kids to a pumpkin patch. Check out our favourite pumpkin patches in and around Ottawa.

As the weather cools, and the leaves start changing colour it’s time to visit the pumpkin patch! Many local farms start to sell pumpkins as early as the beginning of October. So grab a sweater, maybe a pumpkin spice latte, and get pickin’.

Sure you could go to the grocery store and pick a pumpkin out of the bin, OR you could give your kids a slightly more authentic pumpkin picking experience at one of the many local pumpkin patches that Ottawa has to offer.

Here are a few of our favourites!

1. Log Cabin and Pumpkin Patch

Your family can pick more than just apples at the Log Cabin and Pumpkin Patch. Plan to spend the day getting free Hay-Wagon rides, sampling fresh baked goods, candy apples, (cider for adults) and Mexican treats on the weekend. The Log Cabin and Pumpkin Patch also offers free admission and parking so there is no reason not to go.

6121 Cabin Rd, Osgoode
No admission fee!

2. Miller’s Farm, Market & Garden Centre

The pick-your-own patch at Miller’s Farm offers not one, not two, but eight acres of produce to pick from. If you visit on the weekend, we recommend hopping on the tractor-driven wagon ride, exploring the corn maze, and bringing your dog for an afternoon outside.

6158 Rideau Valley Drive, Ottawa

3. Saunders Farm

There really are so many things to do at Saunders Farm on top of just picking out the perfect pumpkin. From mazes, to hayrides, to paintball, and fudge this place is a must stop during the month of October. Throughout the day there are also live puppet shows, ghost town stage shows, and a March of the Monster Parade. Sounds spooky!

7893 Bleeks Road, Munster

4. Abby Hill Farms

With 23 years of growing experience, Abby Hill Farms will surely provide you with the perfect pumpkin. The farm also sells other seasonable vegetables, squash, and apples if you are looking to restock your pantry. Abby Hill Farms is open 7 days a week, from 9:00 A.M. to 6:30 P.M.

1490 Bankfield Rd, Ottawa

5. Fallowfield Tree Farm

If your family is looking for the perfect pumpkin, or some straw, hay bales, corn stalks, or even gourds to decorate your doorstep this Halloween, we suggest taking a trip to Fallowfield Tree Farm. The farm also offers special pumpkin fundraisers, so if you're group, youth organization, or team make sure to take advantage of this great opportunity.

6100 Fallowfield Road, Stittsville

6. Cannamore Orchard

Last but not least is Cannamore Orchard. Located just 35 minutes east of downtown Ottawa, this place is full of family activities and Halloween themed events. After you pick the perfect pumpkin, why not take a covered wagon tour, visit the pedal car track, or even check out the petting zoo? The famous Acres of Terror will also be open late September to late October.
