As the weather cools, and the leaves start changing colour it’s time to visit the pumpkin patch! Many local farms start to sell pumpkins as early as the beginning of October. So grab a sweater, maybe a pumpkin spice latte, and get pickin’.
Sure you could go to Save On Foods or SuperStore and pick a pumpkin out of the bin, OR you could give your kids a slightly more authentic pumpkin picking experience at one of the many local pumpkin patches that Winnipeg has to offer.
Here are a few of our favourites!
A Maze in Corn farm is a must stop for your family during the month of October. The massive corn maze is the most fun you'll ever have getting lost, plus there's extra activities like hay rides, petting zoo, and even a ZIPLINE. There are always hundreds of different shaped pumpkins to choose from in the Pumpkin Barn. Not to mention, to complete your visit you get to enjoy a ride back to your vehicle on the pumpkin train. Choo choo!

Grab the family and pack the mini van up for the day. Schwabe Pumpkins is open and grows over 25 different types of pumpkins. The farm provides a great backdrop for cute fall photos of your kids. Fun fact: the farm caters to children under 12 years old, so if you have younger children this could be a great place to go this October.
