HUFF - Urban Folk Festival

Various locations in downtown Halifax
August 27th - September 3rd

Bring the entire family out to celebrate the best folk musicians in the country. Headliners include: John K. Samson, Tift Merritt, Moe Berg, and Skydiggers just to name a few.

Halifax Colour Festival

Dalhousie University
September 10th, 11:00 am - 4 pm

We know this event isn't actually on the Labour Day Long Weekend, however it is too cool not to mention. Join the Indian Festivals Club of Nova Scotia as they put on the 3rd annual Halifax Colour Festival.

During the celebration there will be games including "Beat the Beans", "Tug of War", and tons of colour packets to throw around. All ages are welcome.

Halifax Fringe Festival

Bus Stop Theatre & multiple other venues
August 31st - September 10th

Why not head over to the 27th annual Halifax Fringe Festival? This 11 day event is chalked full of fun productions, performances, and venues. There will actually be over 350 individuals performing in this amazing festival.

Fun fact: the audience has the option of paying a ticket price. However, all money earned goes directly to the artist. How cool is that!

Tunes at Noon

Locations TBD (follow @DowntownHalifax for updates)
Every Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday until September 1st.

Come out and celebrate the end of the 10 Anniversary of Tunes at Noon. This annual summer concert series is a family favourite. All artists are local and come from a variety of different musical genres.

Halifax Forum Farmer's Market

Bingo Hall (facing Almon St)
Every Saturday, 8 am - 1 pm)

Do your kids like fresh fruit, cool crafts, and yummy desserts? If so, we recommended spending the morning at the Halifax Forum Farmer's Market. This market is held every Saturday and is a great way for the community to support local.
