This summer let your kids experience the thrill of performing on a real stage! Interactive musical theatre camps at Arts Commons are the perfect way to keep your kids engaged over the summer, immersing them in creative discovery, arts-infused learning, and fun
From crafts to imaginary play, creative activities are educational in their own right, but they can be hard to organize, and it’s tough to keep kids involved and away from screens!
So, imagine the excitement when your child finds out they get to work towards the thrill of performing on a real stage! The stage, the lights, the applause may be what draws aspiring young artists to the stage and keeps them focused, but it’s the creative-discovery and fun that they’ll remember forever.
Arts Commons offers an open yet structured environment for developing creativity with their SummerACT musical theatre camps for kids ages 7 – 13 years. Participants get to experience acting, singing, and dancing in Calgary’s home for performing arts.
During the two-week sessions, they work with professional
actors, music, and dance instructors to create an original musical theatre
extravaganza, which they perform on the Engineered Air Theatre stage at Arts
Commons as a grand finale.
Participants will develop new skills, build confidence, and collaborate, laughing and making new friends along the way.
Ultimately, summer is the perfect time for kids to discover self-expression, to try new things, and new ways of being – the creative process. And, with so many distractions it’s important to guide them in an environment in which creativity is nurtured and developed.
Summer camp for the arts is the perfect way to get kids involved in the creative journey! It's the perfect way to eliminate summer boredom, improve artistic skills and experience the thrill of performing on a real stage!
No previous theatre experience required- everyone welcome!
