Ready to send your child on a sleep-away camp this summer? Here's a list of BC's best camps, featuring Vancouver Island, the Gulf Islands, Vancouver & Surrounding Area, and the Okanagan.

If your child has been away for summer camp before and enjoyed it, you're golden.

If this would be their first time going away on their own, make sure you take some time before you book a camp to really consider whether your child is ready. The most important factor is your child's attitude towards camp, regardless of their age or past experiences! If your kidlet has spent nights away from home with friends or family, is comfortable making new friends, has participated in group activities like day camps or sports teams, is responsible and able to do the bed time routine independently, it sounds like they might be ready for an overnight camp.

If you're feeling on edge, having them go with a friend is a great way to make the whole experience more comfortable for them. Or consider a camp that's closer to home for a shorter length of time.

Talking to your little one about expectations and how they feel is important no matter what, both you and your child have intuition about these things and it's important to sometimes listen to that "gut" feeling.

If you think day camp may be your best bet this summer, you're in luck! If you're living in BC we have lots of great ideas for day camps in Victoria or camps in the greater Vancouver area. If you're coming to us from outside of BC, head to the bottom of the page and see if ChatterBlock is in your city (we're across Canada!)
