Halloween is right around the corner.
Get ready to carve pumpkins, paint faces, and deal with the inevitable candy crash. We’ve sifted through the most popular Halloween candies and found the “healthiest” options for you and your kids to enjoy.

According to a recent statistic, the average American consumes 3.4 pounds of candy, or approximately 7,000 calories over Halloween! This extremely scary calorie count is equivalent to eating 13 Big Macs.
It therefore comes as no surprise that in order to burn off all of these sugar laden calories your little kiddos would need to trick-or-treat for a whopping 180 miles, or 304 kms.
In order to help you, your kids, and your waistline out we’ve compiled a list of the least scary popular Halloween treats. Please note that none of these snacks are actually “healthy”, but rather a lesser of two evils.
Per Fun Size Pouch: 70 calories, 7 grams of sugar, 3 grams of fat.
Thanks to the portion control pouches, Reese’s Pieces Peanut Butter actually comes in relatively safe on the Halloween-candy-danger-scale. The extra bit of protein is also a bonus. Just beware of allergies if you plan on sending these delicious treats to school.
Per 3 Kisses: 67 calories, 7.7 grams of sugar, 4 grams of fat.
Although the fat count is quite high for these cute little chocolate kisses, snacking on 3 of these little Halloween chocolates still does less damage than one fun sized snickers bar. Not to mention they are just so darn cute.
Per Fun Size Bar: 60 calories, 7 grams of sugar, 3 grams of fat.
Again, although most Halloween candy is not “healthy”, the Nestle CRUNCH fun size chocolate bar is not as scary as some other options. The crisp rice threat is relatively low in calories and sugar content. However, it is still important to eat in moderation.
Per Two-Piece Fun Size Pack: 70 calories, 7 grams of sugar, 3.6 grams of fat.
Thanks to its light wafer core, the Kit Kat is lower on the calorie count while still delivers lots of satisfaction. Even better, have a break with a friend to cut the calorie and sugar content in half.
Per 3 individually wrapped pieces: 70 calories, 9.5 grams of sugar, 1.5 grams of fat.
These candies are not great for you, as they are packed full of sugar. However, considering they are low in fat we think your kids could make the compromise.
Per Fun Size Bar: 63 calories, 10 grams of sugar, 2 grams of fat.
This whipped up, fluffy chocolate candy makes the list because it has 45% less fat than the leading chocolate brands (according to its package). Beware of the high sugar content and eat in moderation to avoid candy crashes.
Per Roll: 25 calories, 6 grams of sugar, 0 grams of fat.
If you or your kids have a serious sweet tooth, we suggest satisfying this craving with a roll of Smarties/Rockets. Even though the snack still contains a lot of sugar, with no fat the these rolls are a decent option when digging through your Halloween loot.
