Bring a blanket or lawn chair and take in one of these movies in the great outdoors. All movies begin at dusk, at different locations across the city.

Over the past few years there has been a huge surge in demand for outdoor movies, and it's no wonder, what a perfect way to spend an evening! A movie surrounded by stars? Yes puh-lease!

Bring a blanket and lawn chair, sit back, and take in one of the shows with friends and family.

Admission is free to all movies, but seating is on a first come first served basis. Make sure you show up early to get a good spot!

BONUS: All movies at Bullen Park have free kid-friendly entertainment planned starting 1 hour before the show begins, and also have a concession available thanks to the Esquimalt Lions Club. All proceeds support services in the community.

Wednesday, July 12th – Stand By Me

After learning that a stranger has been accidentally killed near their rural homes, four Oregon boys decide to go see the body. On the way they encounter a mean junk man and a marsh full of leeches, as they also learn more about one another and their very different home lives. Just a lark at first, the boys' adventure evolves into a defining event in their lives.

Saturday, July 15th – Moana

An adventurous teenager sails out on a daring mission to save her people. During her journey, Moana meets the once-mighty demigod Maui, who guides her in her quest to become a master way-finder. Along the way, Moana fulfills the ancient quest of her ancestors and discovers the one thing she always sought: her own identity.

Wednesday, July 26th – Meet the Fockers

Now that Greg Focker is "in" with his soon-to-be in-laws, it looks like smooth sailing for him and his fiancée, Pam. But that's before Pam's parents meet Greg's parents, the Fockers. This all adds up to a disastrously funny time of getting to know you.

Friday, August 4th – Jumanji

Two kids find and play a magical board game, and they release a man (Robin Williams) trapped for decades from within it. He leads them through the dangers as they play, for this is the only way to break the curse. Are you game?

A family favourite! Dory is a wide-eyed, blue tang fish who suffers from memory loss every 10 seconds or so. The one thing she can remember is that she somehow became separated from her parents as a child. With help from her friends Nemo and Marlin, Dory embarks on an epic adventure to find them.

Friday, August 11th – Spice World

Relive the good ol' days with this free screening of your favourite childhood girl band movie, Spice World! When the world is in danger, there are only 5 girls that can save humanity (back in 1997)! Get ready to spice up your life cuz I’ll tell you what you want, what you really, really want: the Spice Girls, the answer is always The Spice Girls.

Saturday, August 12th – The Outsiders

The rivalry between two gangs, the poor Greasers and the rich Socs, only heats up when one gang member kills a member of the other. Grab your friends and join us for a night full of high school memories (minus the homework) with The Outsiders!

Friday, August 18th – Dirty Dancing

Relive this epic, Dirty Dancing, love story with your family and friends, we promise we won't put anyone in the corner. Spending the summer at a Catskills resort with her family, Frances "Baby" Houseman (Jennifer Grey) falls in love with the camp's dance instructor, Johnny Castle (Patrick Swayze).

Saturday, August 19th – Willy Wonka

A family classic. Willy Wonka stages a contest by hiding five golden tickets in five of his scrumptious candy bars. Whoever finds these tickets will win a free tour of the Wonka factory, as well as a lifetime supply of candy. The adventure unfolds during the tour as the kids get into trouble.

Wednesday, August 23rd – Star Wars: The Force Awakens

Thirty years after the defeat of the Galactic Empire, the galaxy faces a new threat from the evil Kylo Ren and the First Order. When a defector named Finn crash-lands on a desert planet, he meets Rey, a tough scavenger whose droid contains a top-secret map. Together, the young duo joins forces.
