Shout out to all the ladies out there who make “mom jeans” look hot, can change a diaper faster than a NASCAR pit crew & still look cool driving a minivan.
Being a Mother takes some serious talent!
It really is one of the hardest jobs on the planet.
With Mother’s Day just around the corner it is time to start thinking about what you want to do to celebrate. This year we thought we would suggest something a little less conventional than overpriced chocolate, flowers from some 1-800 number, or generic jewelry that will be broken or lost between the couch cushions within the week.
This year skip the status quo and fearlessly flaunt what makes you a magnificent Momma! Below are a list of ideas that may not make it on a Hallmark card but will definitely make you happy this Mother’s Day.
*Hint hint: share this article with your hubby and kids to ‘subtly’ nudge them in the right direction.
What women actually want on Mother’s Day:
SLEEP: Imagine going to sleep on Saturday night and waking up without an alarm OR without a child screaming in your ear? This is the dream! (no pun intended)
CLEAN HOUSE: Coming home to a clean house is literally a little slice of heaven for Moms. Having a clean house is even more special if it lasts for longer than a few hours. Gasp! A clean house for a whole day. Can you even imagine?
NO MORE CHORES: Having to do laundry, clean the dishes, and make dinner on a daily basis is a lot of work. Take the opportunity on Mother’s Day to ask for an off day. No responsibilities. No worries!
TURN A “HONEY-DO” INTO A “HONEY-DONE” LIST: Every household has a handful of things that need fixing. Whether you have a loose doorknob, leaky faucet, or wobbly table, Mother’s Day is the perfect opportunity to ask for it to get done.
HAVE SOMEONE TAKE CARE OF THEM: It is no surprise that one thing most Moms want is to have someone take care of them for a change. Spoil your Mom with a mani, pedi, massage, facial, or the whole works! All the extra attention will not only make Mom feel loved but also have her leave feeling beautiful!
ALONE TIME: This may sound counterintuitive to your children but sometimes Mommy just wants to be alone. Grab your go-to fancy drink at Starbuck’s, snuggle up in the comfort of your own home and binge watch a episode (or 5). Being able to get away from it all and just chill is so underrated.
A HEARTFELT GIFT: Hallmark cards are fine and dandy, however a handmade and handwritten card is 100% more special. Take the time to put together and perfect your piece of art. Mother’s love to see that you did not put their gift together the night before.
So there you have it folks!
Just the honest to goodness truth about what Moms really want on Mother’s Day.
