Let your kids and their creativity run wild at the top arts and crafts camps in your local community. Whether your kids like painting, drawing, ceramics, or film, ChatterBlock is your one-stop resource for the most creative camps in town.
Camp themes vary weekly, but each camp will include hiking, swimming, exploring, tee-shirt making, fort building, building a sustainable city from recycled materials, active games, solitude, and gratitude time. Campers will also create a passion project that they have a chance to share at the Friday afternoon Mini-Gala!
Renée Sala, director of Crafty School of Art, runs a a colourful and cozy little studio located in the Jubilee area of Victoria. During the summer, she hosts Crafty Camp at local rec centres. Crafty kids will explore clay, wool, paper maché, and many more mediums while creating unique projects with a focus on fun! Class sizes are small and are designed and led by Renée. All camps are half days.
Looking for a unique camp experience for a kid who likes to sew and get crafty? The Makehouse offers Make Camp, open to ages 8 to 13 of all abilities, and Fashion camp, which is open to ages 12 to 17 and builds on basic sewing experience with with a focus on clothing. Camps are hosted at the Makehouse, Esquimalt Recreation Centre, and the Arts Centre at Cedar Hill Recreation.
Summer art camps with the Paint Box School of Art are perfect for your creative kid. Camps are full of creative projects, and campers get to work with a variety of mediums. Some art projects will be done outdoors so young artists can get inspiration from nature. Each camp is guided by a new theme, such as Magical Creatures or West Coast, so no one camp is ever the same. Classes are a maximum of ten students and are available for half or full days.
Located in the Oaklands neighbourhood, Poppet Creative offers art camps for ages 5 to 15. Camp activities include drawing, painting, illustration, comics, sculpture, mixed media, and so much more. All projects are designed to spur your child's imagination. Camp themes included anything from Monsters and Machines to Dollhouse Camp. There's something for everyone.
Wild Arts hosts summer camps at a variety of locations around Greater Victoria. Camps are anywhere from one day to one week long. Campers will participate in group activities and solo projects that are designed to encourage creative expression.
If your child loves to draw, then this is the perfect camp for him or her! From comics and flipbook animation to nature drawing, Playful Pencil's summer camps offer a number or ways for children to express their creativity through drawing. Camps also include outings to local parks and beaches so kids can let off some steam.
St. Margaret's Summer Camps are for girls from kindergarten to grade 6. Camps are open to St. Margaret's students and girls from the Greater Victoria community. Each week of summer camp is robust, with plenty of activity, field trips, and guest specialists. This year’s camp themes include tennis, dance, golf, computer science, musical theatre, sewing, and more.
