Top STEM & Academic Camps in Omaha

For those of you who don’t know, STEM is a popular acronym for “Science, Technology, Engineering and Math.” Opportunities in the STEM fields are on the rise, meaning it has never been a better time to learn how to create and innovate!

If you want your kids to get a competitive edge learning code, game design, robotics and many other awesome activities check out our list of the Top STEM & Academic Camp providers below.

Omaha Christian Academy

OCA is offering an exciting summer filled with Christ-centered instruction, outdoor fun, creative & stimulating indoor activities and projects, swimming, new friends and more.

Each week features a new camp theme, including "Night at the Museum", "Midieval Michief", "Globetrotters", and more to keep things interesting.

Oxbow Animal Health

OAH Veterinarian Camps encourage children’s interest in animals, and introduces them to the world of veterinary science. Hands-on activities include animal anatomy and behavior, nutrition, parasites, general examinations, x-ray analysis, and participation in a mock surgery. Campers will have the opportunity to interact with a real veterinarian!

For children 2nd-8th grade.

Bright Lights

Bright Lights (located in Lincoln) serves elementary and middle school students by providing energized, engaging and fun summer learning opportunities. Half-day classes and full-day camps are available as well as scholarships. Join Bright Lights for their 30th summer of fun!

Strategic Air Command & Aerospace Museum

These summer camps interest and educate youth in the areas of space, robotics, aviation, and survival skills. There are Eleven Camps with 17 dates to choose from Grades 1 - 12. Camp offerings include 1-Day; 3-Day; 5-Day, or overnight sessions.


KANEKO will host its annual summer camps for students ages 12-15. Students will engage with local professionals to learn about the principles and processes of design, creativity, and much more.

Each 2, 4, or 8-day camp provides a group of 16 students a variety of exciting exercises and activities. Camps will include Video Game Design, Architecture, Robotics, and 3D Printing and Fabrication.

Fontonelle Forest

Fontenelle’s Nature Discovery Day Camps feature fun, hands-on, science-based learning through play taught by professional educators.

Special camps are also available for grandparents and grand kids to participate in together.

Omaha Children's Museum

The OCM offers a variety of themed summer camps for age groups 2-3, 4-5, and 5-8. Some of the many themes include Grossology (human bodily functions), Secret Spy Academy, Full S.T.E.A.M. Ahead, Pet Vet, and Adventures in Storybook Land.  Camps are half-day, week-long camps, running either in the morning, afternoon, or both.

Bricks 4 Kidz

Bricks 4 Kidz classes provide an extraordinary atmosphere for children to learn, build, and play… with LEGO®. Summer camps will be held at Elkhorn Hills Methodist Church. Themes include: Beginner Robotics (ages 9-13), Mining & Crafting (ages 9-11), Stop Motion Animation (ages 8-11), Amusement Park Camp (ages 7-9), and Brick-A-Palazoo (ages 6-8).
