Summertime is approaching, and it's time to decide where to send the kids to camp.
Here are our favorite outdoor/adventure choices around Halifax:

Now that spring has finally sprung and the weather is heating up it is time to start thinking about summer. We absolutely love the idea of sending your kids to an outdoor summer camp. Why not let them soak up some sweet Vitamin D and have a blast with their best friends! In order to help, we’ve filtered through all the local outdoor kids camps and compiled a list of only the best and brightest.
Adventure Earth Centre
The Adventure Earth Centre takes a positive, values-building approach to developing a rewarding and healthy lifestyle for young people through our outdoor and environmental programs. The AEC offers day camps for ages 7-12, overnight programs for ages 11-15, and youth leadership opportunities.
YMCA - Big Cove Camp
There's something for all ages at and at Big Cove overnight camps, from Little Big Cove (3-night camps for ages 6-12), Junior (ages 7-11), Senior (ages 12-15), and Leadership (ages 15-17) camps. Junior and Senior camps are available in 6 or 13 night sessions.
Camp activities vary, include archery, kayaking, canoeing, zip-lining, arts & crafts, just to name a few.
Established in 1953, Bayside Camp has a long and rich history of providing life changing environments through residential camping.
Campers will explore nature, and make new friendships through activities such as canoeing, archery, the climbing tower, outdoor cooking, orienteering, sports, and more.
Veith House offers a summer camps for children ages 5-11. These science and outdoor-based camps will have families wanting to come back again.
Camps run Monday to Thursday from 9-3 and provides a wide variety of fun activities.
Bulidit Activity Camp
At Buildit Activity Camp you'll build Lego eV3 robots and program them to do amazing things. Build kits and MOC's and make stop motion animation movies. Then it's off to the zip line, ropes course, aqua park or another of the exciting activities. To round out a packed day, there's night games and campfires before bed.
Grow A Lotus Yoga
Grow A Lotus Yoga offers unique summer camps are a fusion of yoga, art, and outdoor adventures. They are an opportunity for elementary school children to explore their innate creativity, playfulness and connect with nature to come alive!
