For those of you who don’t know, STEM is a popular acronym for “Science, Technology, Engineering and Math.” Opportunities in the STEM fields are on the rise, meaning there has never been a better time to learn how to create and innovate! STEM camps are a great opportunity for your kids to get a competitive edge learning code, game design, robotics, and many other awesome skills. Below is a list of companies that host academic and STEM summer camps and a description of those camps.
Innova Fellows hosts two awesome, educational summer camps. Their Business Innovation camp is a ten-day program where youth are given an immersive educational experience to help them become innovators and leaders in the business world. Students will attend lectures by experts from the marketing, finance, and product design fields. Throughout the ten days, students will work in teams to mock a real-world business case and develop their own business plan. On the last day, they will pitch their business plan to a panel of judges made up of venture capitalists, angel investors, and industrial leaders.
Over five days, Innova Fellows Financial IQ camp teaches campers the fundamentals of financial knowledge and how to develop good financial habits through team activities and case studies. Both these camps are educational experiences that your child will remember forever!

These week-long summer camps offer a variety of fun and enriching hands-on projects that teach students how to use technology creatively. Camp activities include building projects with LEGO® gears and motors, WeDo® and NXT® and EV3® Robotics, Game Design and Python Programming. Classes feature high-interest, age-appropriate projects that teach students technology and science skills.

Coding with Kids camps are a place for coders to unleash their creativity and take the next step on their Coding Journey. Tech-savvy instructors will guide small groups of campers as they unleash their creativity to build games, interactive stories, and other projects.
Bricks 4 Kidz® camps are a fresh and fun way for kids ages 5-11 to spend their school break! Guided by experienced teachers and built around exciting themes like Amusement Parks, Space and Robotics, children will enjoy using LEGO® Bricks to build specially-designed Bricks 4 Kidz models, play LEGO® games and explore the world of engineering, architecture, and animated movie-making.
BEAM Experiences offers STREAM (Science, Technology, Reading, Engineering, Art, Math) summer camps in Seattle’s elementary and middle schools. Their goal is to meet your students’ individual educational and creative goals. Programs include robotics, stop-motion animation, graphic novel development, coding, and much more!
BLAZE Education is a global research and development center that teaches students in grades K-12 STEM topics. They hold summer camps that aim to help students master their STEM skills and knowledge. Campers will learn how to think critically, and they will design and build their own projects. Each camp offers a different theme such as robotics, 3D modelling and printing, photography, coding, virtual reality, and more. BLAZE camps are as much fun as they are educational.
Creative Coding teaches kids how to program computers through a fun, educational classes. During the summer, they offer a range of coding camps for kids of varying levels of coding experience, from very beginners to the more advanced young coders. Since the instructors at Creative Coding believe that "coding is what your do with it," kids choose want they want to create. Campers will come home eager to tell you how they made their own game or animation.
Digital Media Academy was created at Stanford University in 1999. They host camps and classes at universities across the country. In Seattle, their STEM camps are held at the University of Washington. Camps are one week long and open to elementary, middle, and high school students. Digital Media Academy's goal is to create a memorable and rewarding experience. Programs include 3D modelling and design, game design, music production, film and photography, coding and artificial intelligence, and robotics and engineering. Each day, campers have outside breaks and participate in team activities. And at the end of the week, students go home with a finished project.
In the summer, Mighty Coders runs beginner and intermediate coding camps for kids ages 8-14. Kids will learn 2D or 3D game development, fundamental programming concepts, and programming languages like Lua, Python, or Java Script. The teachers are super supportive and have a passion for helping kids succeed and have lots of fun. Kids will leave the camp with increased programming knowledge, logical thinking skills, and confidence.
Play-Well runs some awesome summer camps for aspiring engineers. Their camps center around two engineering and architectural projects per day where students use LEGO blocks to build their own project. Lots of engineering concepts are covered like motors, batteries, leads, overlapping, beam bridges, eccentric motion, you name it. At the end of the week, your child will come away with increased engineering and physics vocabulary and enhanced problem solving and critical thinking skills.
