Top Outdoors Summer Camps in Austin


Now that spring has finally sprung and the weather is heating up it is time to start thinking about summer. We absolutely love the idea of sending your kids to an outdoor summer camp. Why not let them soak up some sweet Vitamin D and have a blast with their best friends! In order to help, we’ve filtered through all the local outdoor kids camps and compiled a list of only the best and brightest.



Kidventure Camp

Since 1994 Kidventure has provided summer camp in Austin for thousands of children. Half day, full day, and overnight sessions are available.

Their curriculum is aimed at serving the whole child, including science, athletics, art, team building, and more.





Camp Switch Willo

Camp Switch Willo is an award-winning day camp catering to children aged 5-15 years. All levels are accepted from beginners to advanced riders. Campers are taught safe handling techniques, riding skills, grooming, basic healthcare and feeding, and barn etiquette. Week-long sessions throughout the summer break.





Camp Doublecreek

Located in Round Rock, Camp Doublecreek is a day camp for children aged 4-14, established in 1971.

Campers will enjoy swimming, horseback riding, all kinds of sports, miniature golf, baby animals, arts and crafts, archery, tennis, tumbling, a playscape, and many other fun games and activities.




YMCA of Austin

Kids aged 4-14 have the opportunity to build self-confidence, independence, and creativity in a variety of YMCA day camps.

Kinder, Theme, Sport, and Trailblazer camps are available to accommodate all age groups and interests.





Camp on the Move

More of an "adventure" camp than a traditional outdoor wilderness camp, Camp on the Move is a unique experience for kids aged 8 to 14.

They encourage physical activity through fun field trips to places like Six Flags, golf trips, Hawaiian Falls, among others.
