Summertime is approaching, and it's time to decide where to send the kids to camp. Here are our favorite outdoor/adventure choices in Omaha.

Now that spring has finally sprung and the weather is heating up it is time to start thinking about summer. We absolutely love the idea of sending your kids to an outdoor summer camp. Why not let them soak up some sweet Vitamin D and have a blast with their best friends! In order to help, we’ve filtered through all the local outdoor kids camps and compiled a list of only the best and brightest.



Ponca Hills Farm

Live your Dream. Learn to Ride. The goal at Ponca Hills Farm is to have your child riding independently by the end of a 3-week session. Campers take daily English riding lessons where they’ll learn how to lead, groom and tack their horse and develop safe horsemanship skills. Camps are offered for ages 8-16 years. 




Fontonelle Forest

Fontenelle’s Nature Discovery Day Camps feature fun, hands-on, science-based learning through play taught by professional educators.

Special camps are also available for grandparents and grand kids to participate in together.





Camp Fun-Plex

Camp Fun-Plex is a week of unbelievable fun in Nebraska’s Premier Ride and Water Park! Campers aged 7-13 will enjoy access to waterslides, motion ocean, lazzzy river, go-karts, mini golf, and so much more! With behind the scenes tours, each camper will see what it takes to be a lifeguard and ride attendant. Other activities include crafts, scavenger hunts, and some old-fashioned field games.




Gene Eppley Camp

During June and July, The Salvation Army operates camps for children and families at a very low cost.

At the Gene Eppley Camp and Retreat Center. just south of Omaha, Nebraska on 118 acres, the facilities and activities cater to people of all ages and physical ability.




Easter Seals Nebraska Camp, Respite, and Recreation

An overnight camp for campers ages 5+ who have any disability. They provide 1:1-1:3 counselor to camper ratio & a nurse on site 24hrs. Activities are accommodated for the camper including fishing, canoeing, swimming, archery, a ropes course, and of course s'mores! Medicaid waiver & Lifespan subsidy accepted as payment. Scholarships available.
