It’s that time of the year again where the weather is warm and the first signs of spring are serving to wash away the winter blues. Soon enough, kid bikers everywhere are going to be unleashing vast amounts of energy (we still have no idea where it comes from) eager to hit the hills on their mountain bikes.
Mountain biking is a great sport for adventurous kids who enjoy getting messy and exploring their surroundings with the cool wind pushing up at them as they rattle downhill.
As parents, we’re happy our kids are getting fresh air and learning the thrill of adventure, but we also want to know that someone is watching them and that they know exactly what they’re doing - they're zipping past roots, rocks and trees after all!
So here are some handy options for local kid friendly bike camps in the Bay Area this summer. Where are you going to take your kids biking this year?

Finally, if you want to go out biking yourself while your kids are being watched over by the camp counsellors, but feel more comfortable with the support of a team, then Velogirls might just be the group for you. They offer group rides and events for women (and men) all throughout the year throughout Northern California.
