Christmas is approaching, and like Santa, there is a lot for us to do! But where are all the fun events? Here is our schedule:

It’s a wonderful time of year to celebrate and enjoy all sorts of community traditions and festivities with your family! Here’s a list of some of the best local Christmas events this year:


Breakfast with Santa

Join the big guy himself for a delicious breakfast at Oregon Zoo, Making a special appearance all the way from the North Pole! 
Our chefs are going all-out to create an amazing buffet for you and your little ones. 
In addition to a great breakfast, animal visitors, and craft activities, you can get a souvenir photo and meet & greet with Santa!

Miracle of a Million Lights

For the month of December Victorian Belle is known as ​“The Miracle of a Million Lights” and is open to the public for tours of the decorated house and grounds. The entire 2.5 acres is filled with a million plus twinkling lights that turn this historic Portland landmark into a Christmas Wonderland!

Tour the richly appointed historic Victorian Belle aglow with 20+ uniquely decorated Christmas trees and elaborate decorations. View rooms filled with period antiques and vintage heirlooms with majestic themes. This is truly a treat for all ages.

A Very Portland Christmas

Explore Pittock Mansion decorated for the holidays! Enjoy the wonders of the season at Pittock Mansion’s annual holiday display, a Portland tradition for over 50 years.

This year, experience the iconic places, people, and events of Portland—like Powell’s Books, Packy the elephant, and Peacock Lane—as they are incorporated into the decorative stylings of volunteers and professional designers who transform the Mansion into a holiday wonderland.

Local musicians will play holiday music regularly in the Mansion’s Music Room during the exhibit.

A Christmas Carol

Join Ebenezer Scrooge and the ghostly spirits who visit on Christmas Eve and guide the grumpy miser through a redemptive and transformative journey towards friendship and love.  Hopeful, musical, and above all fun; our production has won three awards, including: BEST PLAY, BEST ENSEMBLE, and BEST DIRECTOR.

Portland Spirit Cinnamon Bear Cruise

Portland Spirit continues the beloved holiday tradition with the Cinnamon Bear Cruise. You and your child will be guests of honor on this two-hour cruise. Enjoy holiday treats while a cast of fanciful characters entertain you with storytelling, music and magic. Have your picture taken with the Cinnamon Bear himself atop his magical throne. Make this a holiday your child will remember forever.
The entry fee includes one picture with the Cinnamon Bear for each child and light snack buffet.

Christmas Ship Parade

Christmas Ship owners are getting ready to set sail for their 63rd year as residents make plans to watch the colorful flotillas during the parade's 2017 holiday season. 
The Christmas Ship Parade will open Friday, December 1st, in North Portland Harbor and will run for 15 nights through Thursday December 21st. Checkout the website for the parade schedules for Columbia Fleet and Willamette Fleet.

Holidays on the Mall

There are multiple Christmas events happening at the Pioneer Courthouse Square, our city’s “living room". Enjoy an exciting and unique marimba band performance, pick up a free festive poinsettia plant, join a marching band, take pictures in the decorated photo booths, participate in the caroling competition and many more activities for your entire family to enjoy. Christmas in Dairyville

A HO, HO, HOLIDAY TRADITION. During the holidays, Dairyville, a replica of a western frontier town, transforms into a winter wonderland. Animals are on display in nostalgic Storybook Lane, vintage storefronts, local choirs singing, holiday movies in the Opera House and, of course, Santa. Portland's Singing Christmas Tree

Come celebrate Christmas with Portland's favorite holiday tradition! Let the glory of Christmas come alive as the three hundred-voice choir creates a Christmas extravaganza for the whole family. Your favorite holiday songs, dancing Santas, and a beautiful cinematic Nativity. It is an awe-inspiring presentation of the true gift of Christmas and an experience not to be missed!
