Every year since 1969, the Ottawa Professional Fire Fighters' Association has been organizing the Help Santa Toy Parade and collecting toys along the parade route for distribution to the less fortunate children in Ottawa-Carleton. The parade has evolved into a significant event drawing tens-of-thousands of people who line the Parade route and share their generosity. Participants are entertained to the sights and sounds of floats, bands and clowns produced locally and from around the Province.

The parade runs down Strandherd Drive, starting at Beatrice Drive and ending at the park n ride, where it turns north for dispersal. You'll find a variety of local food vendors along the parade route. Please remember to bring non-perishable food items or cash donations for the needy.

The perfect holiday treat for the whole family! The Winnipeg Ballet returns to Ottawa for five nights to delight audiences with Christmas joy. This production puts a Canadian twist on the classic story. Don't miss frolicking polar bears, majestic Mounties, and snowy pong hockey games.

It may be a bit of a drive, but it's worth it for Eastern Ontario's BIGGEST outdoor light festival. Bundle up and take an evening stroll through the picture-perfect setting with one million lights covering the heritage buildings of Upper Canada Village, a true winder wonderland.
When: Weekends of December from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Where: Aberdeen Pavilion, Lansdowne Park
This event will feature work by painters, glass workers, jewellers, clothing designers, sculptors, photographers and more wonderful items from over 120 vendors. It's a great opportunity to pick up some very special treasures – for yourself or your loved ones. And it's more than just shopping! Throughout the day is horse and wagon rides, kids crafts, and live music.

Kick off the holiday season on December 4, 2019, at Confederation Park when Canada’s capital lights up! There will be free family fun with carols, hot chocolate, and more. Then each night until January 7, 2020, Confederation Boulevard, the ceremonial route that circles the heart of the Capital, will light up. And the Magical Winter Lightscapes Show will be projected onto the Parliament Buildings as well!

As one third of the legendary San Francisco-based Vince Guaraldi Trio, Jerry Granelli recorded what is arguably the greatest Christmas album of all time in 1965 – the soundtrack to the animated classic A Charlie Brown Christmas. Today Granelli is the only remaining member of the famed trio and this Christmas season he’s on the road to share the story of the band that recorded the famous soundtrack. This performance promises to be an unforgettable experience for Peanuts and jazz music aficionados alike. Granelli and his band will be joined on stage with a local choir, The Goulbourn Junior Jubilees.

The Casino Lac-Leamy Plaza will be transformed into a European-style Christmas market. The market will be set under a canopy of thousands of lights. Vendors will be selling unique gifts and seasonal food and drinks. The setting will be enhanced with live entertainment, fire pits, and Christmas decor. Family-friendly activities will take place during the day.
