Top Academic Enrichment Programs in San Francisco

Mad Science of the Bay Area

Wizbots

Wizbots programs are held in Imagineering Labs. An Imagineering Lab is a mobile learning environment that combines sophisticated programming and robotics components with low-tech arts, crafts and building materials to provide an outstanding range of design possibilities for young innovators. All programs engage kids in product design, tech challenges, team games, and open-ended creativity.

Fog City Tutoring

Fog City Tutoring's customized programs begin with an informal evaluation to identify the student's strengths and weaknesses. An educational plan is created to address any gaps in learning and push the student forward towards attaining his or her academic goals. With the customized program, the tutor will bring in outside curriculum as needed, while allowing for time to reinforce coursework.

Kumon

Kumon learning centers for children specializes in nationwide after school math and reading programs for preschool students through 12th grade. You’ll find that Kumon is different from passive learning programs. Instead of taking notes, memorizing facts, and being fed information from teachers or a tutor, your child actively develops critical, self-learning skills. Kumon has several locations in the Bay Area.

Sylvan Learning Center

Sylvan tutors use a personal approach and interactive technology to help kids learn math, reading, writing and more—turning B's into A's and frustration into confidence! Several locations are available throughout the Bay Area for your convenience.

Education Francaise Bay Area

EFBA is a nonprofit offering high quality yet affordable French after school programs to both francophone and anglophone children.

Classes are aimed at children ages 5-18, and take place in local schools throughout the San Francisco Bay Area.

California Academy of Sciences

Academy educators host teacher workshops, create classroom materials, and facilitate field trips year-round to inspire the next generation of scientists. Daily museum programs, events, lectures and digital learning opportunities bring the natural world to life for visitors and curious individuals from around the world.

GLO Growth & Learning Opportunities

GLO currently provides five after school and three before school programs at San Francisco public school sites.

GLO delivers its mission of “empowering youth and families to be leaders toward equitable communities” by offering a variety of high quality programs, grounded in evidenced-based practices.

Tutor Corps

Tutor Corps takes a personal, holistic approach to develop effective learning solutions for each student. Their team of educational experts partner with parents, teachers and the student to assess strengths, areas for improvement, and learning style. They then create a personal learning plan to help the student understand what to learn, and the method of doing so.
