Food Forests in the City: Lessons from North America’s Largest Food Forest!
Join us for an inspiring and informative evening with Jenny Pell as she details exciting community-driven food security initiatives in Washington and Oregon. She will tell us the story of how Seattle’s Beacon Hill Food Forest, a 7-acre parcel that is being developed as the largest public food forest in all of North America. Jenny will detail the process of this community initiative, taking us through the step by step process of working with community and city officials to realize the dream of a public food forest, allowing us to draw lessons from their experience. She will also discuss other permaculture and food security projects that are changing the landscape and cultures of our cities and towns.
